Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is a highly effective dental treatment that enables us to eliminate the infection that has formed inside the tooth (pulp) and the surrounding bone while retaining the tooth. With our latest technology, we are able to do this painlessly for you.
Why do I need a root canal treatment?
Root canal treatment is done to save the tooth when the damage (decay, crack, gum disease) has extended into the pulp of the tooth. When this happens, the tooth dies and forms an infection that also spreads to the surrounding jawbone. Often, but not always, there is a severe pain associated with it as well. The root canal treatment eliminates both the pain and the infection that is inside the tooth as well as the surrounding jawbone.
How much time does a root canal treatment take?
It usually takes two to three visits to finish the treatment depending on the circumstances and condition of the tooth.
Is the Root canal treatment painful?
At Woodlea Dental, we use modern techniques and instruments such as the use of highly effective local anaesthesia and dental CT scan. This enables us to provide you with a pain free treatment. If you are already in pain, the first stage of the root canal treatment is designed to relieve the pain.
